This is the latest update from the team in Nepal, shared in November. It shows the aftermath of the landslide and the huge task of rebuilding and restoring services at the hospital.
At the end of September we received the terrible news that Anandaban Hospital in Nepal had been badly affected by floods and landslides. This hospital has stood as a beacon of hope and healing for many years, but these landslides have threatened all of that. Torrential rain caused flooding and two major landslides, with a number of smaller landslides at the hospital site. Many hospital buildings were damaged or destroyed and sadly one staff member died as a result of the landslide. Mr Shovakhar Kandel, Country Leader for The Leprosy Mission Nepal says the impact on the hospital is worse than the 2015 earthquake.
Will you play your part and help build a relief fund?
Let's show people affected by leprosy that we are there for them in their hour of need. Please give whatever you can today.
Let's stand shoulder to shoulder with the team at Anandaban. As you show the heart of Jesus through your compassion, we remember that God is for us and with us:
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze Isaiah 43:2(NIV)
