Our World Leprosy Sunday 2019 campaign - Heal Nepal - raised an unprecedented £4,154,78 including match funding from the UK government.
Your support has meant that many more people will be found, cured and healed of leprosy.
Many churches from across Northern Ireland supported our efforts and so we are delighted to be able to share how that money has been put to good use at Anandaban Hospital and in the outreach medical camps.
When visiting Anandaban Hospital recently, one of our colleagues met an extraordinary young woman called Shaimi.
Shaimi's life, and those of her young children, were devastated by leprosy. The support that she received at Anandaban Hospital from doctors, nurses, counsellors and physiotherapists helped 'give her back life'.
Your generous donations also helped Shaimi prepare for life outside the hospital by teaching her how to 'self-care' for her wounds and to prevent infection.
Just like Jesus, with your help, our team see beyond the immediate needs and do everything they can to transform all aspects of our patients' lives. When our hospital staff found out that Shaimi's family couldn't afford for her two daughters to go to school, they arranged for the girls to be given scholarships to cover the cost of their uniforms and materials.
To give the whole family a better future, they plan to give Shaimi skills training so that sh can learn to be a tailor and work close to her family home.
