From 3-6 October, we were delighted to welcome Jannine Ebenso, TLM International’s Head of Quality Assurance as our guest speaker at a number of events, held in partnership with Mission Africa, to celebrate all that’s been achieved at Ekpene Obom hospital in Nigeria.
Around 120 people attended events on 3 October at Albert Bridge Congregational Church, Belfast and at Moyallon Centre, Portadown. One of the key reasons for the events was to celebrate the completion of the renovation of buildings and construction of a new ward at a hospital in Ekpene Obom, Nigeria. More than £300,000 has been raised from churches and individuals in Northern Ireland over the past five years in support of this work. The new ward has been built in memory of Dr Esther Davies, a missionary from Portadown who served in Ekpene Obom for over 50 years.
Thanks to your prayers and gifts, we had a wonderful weekend celebrating the transformation in Ekpene Obom Hospital, which also included Jannine and Joanne speaking at the Sunday services at Knocknamuckly Parish and Seagoe Parish Churches.
Jannine has almost 30 years’ experience working with people affected by leprosy and disabilities, mainly in Africa. She was a physiotherapist and disability officer with The Leprosy Mission Nigeria in Ekpene Obom for over 12 years.
Thank you to all those who supported these events!
