TLM Sponsored Marathon

On a sunny Monday 2nd may, 45 enthusiastic sportsmen and women made their merry way to the metropolis that is Belfast , to partake in the 30th Belfast City Marathon .
These eager athletes assembled at their respective starting points, the walkers and runners at City hall. Meanwhile the other relay team members waited at their start points with baited breath to be passed the baton (or should I say wrist band) from their previous team mates.
As 9am grew closer the pressure mounted and the participants knew this was the point of no return.
Amongst the masses at the city hall, our people stood out with their glistening white t-shirts emblazoned with the TLM logo. We were here to be noticed, to promote the cause of The Leprosy Mission
As the morning, and the runners progressed, the heat intensified and the sun continued to shine. Many relay participants could be seen propping up the water stations, not mentioning any names, but the youth associate was not hard to spot.
There was walking, running, jogging and even some hobbling but we are pleased to announce every team and individual crossed the finish line.

Ultimately ‘The Leprosy Mission Monday Marathon Madness’ was a raving success the support of participants and donators was above and beyond the vision of the proposers of the event.
