Be a socially responsible consumer – help change
lives one cup at a time
Having worked amongst local communities in developing countries over
the last ten years, the founders of Source2Resource identified an important need to create
something in the market place that could be used to help build and
support the work of humanitarian and community-based projects around
the world. This strong desire to help give a hand up, not a hand
out to communities around the world marked the beginning of
Source2Resource.
Source2Resource
endeavours to provide a fair deal to growers, purchasing quality tea
and coffee products at a fair price, which creates sustainability –
enabling them to make better choices to improve working conditions,
to provide education for workers and their families, and to
encourage the use of enhanced environmental working practices.
In
addition to this, for every fair deal and fair trade product from
Source2Resource that is
purchased by supporters and friends of the Leprosy Mission,
10% of that purchase will also be contributed to the
Leprosy Mission. This means that by choosing and enjoying
quality products from Source2Resource,
you are helping to change lives and support worthwhile projects
across the world.
£1 may only buy a packet of crisps and a chocolate bar in the
Western world, but consider this:
• £1 could buy 4 tablets that could cure 4
children from malaria in South Sudan
• £1 could buy 1 bar of soap to last a family for
a whole month in Uganda
• £1 could buy a fruit tree sapling which grows
fruit every year and prevents soil
erosion too
• £5 could help buy 7 local push hoes to enable 7
farmers to cultivate more land in
south Sudan
• £10 could help provide 1 child with good primary
classroom facilities in Kenya
• £15 could help buy the necessary facilities for a safe
birth in a clinic in Lao PDR
